We are looking for the nicest dog name for each dog breed.
There are names which particularly suit certain breeds like Waldi for a Dachshund or Rex for a German Shephard or even Trixi for a miniature Schnauzer. Often a name is chosen based on the dog’s character, looks or its origins. We are collecting names for our databank which people think particularly suit certain types of dogs. Please write your suggestions in our databank, giving a brief reason for your choice.
Find the breed of dog you want to give a suggestion to. Click on “show” and a window will appear with suggestions. Here you can suggest a name and give a reason for your particular choice (user defined length). Finally, click on “enter”.
It would be nice if you could grade each suggestion (1-6, 1=very good, etc...). Each contributor should only give one set of marks per name. The marks will be collected to give an average. If you want to give a comment on a suggestion, then you can do this by entering it in again. You might want to say what the name means or why you think it doesn’t suit. If you cannot find your breed of dog in the databank, you could try the following: Go to www.breeds-of-dogs.com and use the alphabet to find the breed you are looking for. You will notice that there are often different names used. The name in front of the brackets is the one always used in the databank. Now you can find your breed in the databank. Under “miscellaneous names” you can enter names of particular interest, such as “Kismet” meaning „destiny“ for a stray dog maybe. Under “Two Dogs Together” you will find some nice combinations such as „Romeo and Juliet“ Furthermore, you can suggest names which are suitable for more than one dog breed. If there are any names in your native language which you think would be interesting, then please enter them with their meaning in our databank.
We are looking for unusual, funny as well as nice names for dogs. Thanks a lot for your help!
You can even use our databank as a resource. Have fun!
